Marsha P. Johnson — LGBTQ+ Rights Icon & Stonewall Activist Tribute Tee

BE LOUD. BE PROUD. BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY YOU.

Before Pride became a parade, it was a protest. And few people embodied the fearless, unapologetic spirit of the LGBTQ+ liberation movement quite like Marsha P. Johnson.

Born in 1945, Marsha P. Johnson was a Black queer activist, drag performer, and pioneering figure in the fight for gay liberation and transgender rights. Known for her colorful flower crowns, radiant personality, and unwavering commitment to her community, Marsha became one of the most recognizable faces of New York City's LGBTQ+ rights movement.

Marsha was a prominent figure in the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a watershed moment in LGBTQ+ history that helped galvanize the modern gay rights movement. But her activism didn't stop there.

Alongside fellow activist Sylvia Rivera, Marsha co-founded Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries (STAR) in 1970, an organization dedicated to helping homeless transgender youth, drag queens, and other marginalized members of the queer community. At a time when even parts of the gay rights movement excluded transgender and gender-nonconforming people, Marsha fought to make sure nobody was left behind.

She also advocated for people living with HIV/AIDS and became involved with ACT UP, continuing her work for dignity, visibility, and justice until her death in 1992.

Our Marsha P. Johnson tribute shirt honors a woman who refused to be invisible, refused to be silenced, and refused to abandon the people who needed her most.

Featuring a striking portrait of this legendary LGBTQ+ activist, this graphic tee celebrates Black queer history, the Stonewall legacy, transgender visibility, and the radical roots of Pride.

Wear it to a Pride parade, a protest, a rally, or simply because you believe equality, self-expression, and human rights are worth standing up for.

Pride started as a protest. Marsha helped make it a movement.

Honor the history. Celebrate the resistance. Keep speaking out.

Because LGBTQ+ history is American history — and Marsha P. Johnson deserves to be remembered.
